Krebs
Oklahoma

The MCBA Ozark Section invited the Eastern Oklahoma Section to attend a poker run to Krebs, Oklahoma, on May 22, 2021, organized by the Ozark Section’s John and Dottie Miller. The two Sections met in Chouteau, Oklahoma, at the Amish Cheese House and Bakery. The Ozark Section had 12 members participating, and the Eastern Oklahoma Section had 11, with a total of 12 vehicles. We each drew our first poker card at the cheese house, and Kathy Retzlaff’s name was drawn for the first door prize; then we headed south on Highway 69 to our next stop in Wagoner, Oklahoma. There we held another poker card drawing; Bob Poulseen’s name was drawn for the second door prize. We made two more stops and drew two more cards before arriving in Krebs at Pete’s Place. Harriett Kushnerick won the third door prize and Laura Sehl won the fourth. At the restaurant, we each drew our last poker card, and the fifth door prize was won by Brian Johnson. John and Dottie had made arrangements for a large dining room for us. We enjoyed an unbelievable amount of food, and the waitress kept bringing out salad, meatballs, spaghetti and sauce, ravioli, bread and a cheese tray, plus the side dishes members ordered. No one went home hungry!! John tallied up the poker cards, and, while doing so, Dottie had someone draw two more names for the last door prizes: a beautiful gift basket of goodies won by Jim Sehl from the Eastern Oklahoma Section, and a bottle of Chianti wine and a $25.00 gift card to Lovera’s Cheese and Sausage Market won by Joel Menold of the Ozark Section. After tallying up the poker card points, it was a tie between Dottie Miller and Teresa Poulseen from the Ozark Section. The ladies each drew one more card, and Teresa drew a King! Teresa won half of the poker pot; she gave her winnings back to the Ozark Section to be donated to the Northwest Children’s Hospital. One-fourth of the poker pot went to the Eastern Oklahoma Section and one-fourth to the Ozark Section. After our meal, several of us went to Lovera’s Cheese and Sausage Market to enjoy buying some wonderful items, especially Joel Menold. This was a fun event for both sections, and the Eastern Oklahoma Section had never done a poker run, so they were very thrilled. Thank you again, John and Dottie; you are so amazing to do these trips!
