On Saturday, September 21, 2019, twelve Ozark Section members and Dennis Anderson’s son Todd, drove through the beautiful Ozarks to Branson, Missouri, where we toured the 90,000-square-foot air-conditioned building hosting the Auto and Farm Museum. We were able to reminisce on some of the auto industry’s best in history as we walked around the 140 classic and collectible autos as well as the 170 tractors and steam engines from the 1900s to 2000s. Almost everything in the museum is for sale to keep inventory current with fresh vehicles, causing us to want to add some very special autos to our collections. One of the favorites was a 1956 white Corvette with a sporty red interior on sale for $79,000. Some the best of show were classics, including vintage Corvettes, Cadillac Biarritzes, Lincoln Continentals, Thunderbirds, Shelby Mustangs, Vipers and even Model T Fords. After visiting the museum, we drove to Branson’s Landry’s Seafood Restaurant where we enjoyed a delicious fresh seafood lunch. One of the fun parts of our lunch was sharing what autos each of us would buy from the museum if the price were not an issue. We also had a great time talking about our personal experiences with many of the vehicles throughout our lives. After lunch, we had a beautiful drive home on a sunny day in the Ozarks including salmon, crab, shrimp and more delicious entrees.
