Eureka Springs, Arkansas, held its Fifth Annual Ozark Euro Rally for all German cars on August 24, 2019, at The Great Passion Play parking grounds. Fifteen members and guests joined in the event with our Mercedes-Benzes and one Porsche. It turned out to be a cloudy, cool day, but that didn’t keep the fans from enjoying the number of cars that came from Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas and other states. There were no classes and no formal judging. The show was for enthusiasts who love to show off their vehicles, regardless of how they look, and the camaraderie that owning a German car brings! Participants chose their favorites in a variety of categories, and the winners received trophies. John and Dottie Miller, from Greenwood, Arkansas, won the “Top Mercedes” trophy for their beautiful Red 2013 SLK350. Congratulations! John also furnished a German flag for the Ozark Section to fly along with a Mercedes-Benz medallion on top of the pole. Dennis Anderson provided a Mercedes-Benz banner. The Northwest Arkansas Mercedes-Benz dealership from Bentonville was also present with two of its new vehicles and current information. Phillip Johnson, the Service Manager for Mercedes-Benz came, along with a few staff members from the BMW dealership. Phillip gave the Ozark Section several boxes of Mercedes-Benz hats to hand out to patrons. We were pleased that Terry and Barb Lowinger from the Triangle-Raleigh Section in North Carolina transferred to the Ozark Section and were able to enjoy the event. They recently moved to Bella Vista to be close to family. After a long cool day, Ozark Section members met for dinner at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant. Eight of the members had come to Eureka Springs the night before to spend two nights, but the others left to go home right after dinner. Thank to Dennis Anderson, John and Dottie Miller and Kathy Menold for setting up this great event, along with Elizabeth Wintercom from the Ozark Euro Rally.
